Women worked in proffesional fields , textile , or electronics factories . philippines food is a mixture of American , Chinese , Malay , and Spanish dishes . They eat rice , beef , fish , or poultry , and etc . One acholic beverage they drink is called tuba , which is made of / from sap of coconut palm tree . As in cloth they all wea something similar like those worn in western countries . On holidays or special occasions men wear barong tagalog , a shirt made of pineapple fiber , raw silk or cotton . Man also wear these to go to work . Women wear a long , puff - sleeved dress called a ballintawak . One popular sports in philippines is basketball . Other sports are baseball , boxing , and golfing. philippines enjoy doing gambling which is illegal in the philippines also enjoy doing karoke and music . Lastly arts , philippine has produced many painters and writers . Painting use to show people everyday life . philipine litature considered native legends and poem , also novels . This is philippines way of life .
